Aura Tech Showcase helps end-users rethink the in-room digital workspace

Aura Futures hosted its Tech Showcase 2025 digital workspace event at its London headquarters on 13 November, bringing together over 70 end-user customers and 23 leading technology partners to explore what a modern in-room experience can and should look like across large estates.

The end-user-only forum gave IT, AV, estates and workplace leaders from sectors including higher education, retail, financial services and professional services the chance to experience first-hand how integrated audio-visual, managed print, digital signage and workplace platforms can be combined into coherent, supportable in-room environments – and what beneficial outcomes could be achieved in terms of user experience, budgetary value and sustainability.

More than 23 technology partners participated in the event, including global leaders in AV, networking and workplace platforms such as Barco, Cisco, Crestron, Logitech, Q-SYS, Ricoh and Samsung. Alongside the live demonstrations, the programme also featured insights from:

  • Daniel Roberts, CIO, SOAS University of London, on building world-class hybrid meeting capabilities and using AV to support global collaboration and attract academic partners, while also creating a physical embodiment of the organisation’s values.
  • Martyn Burton, UK ambassador for SAVe (Sustainability in AV), on the importance of sustainable AV – from energy management to end-of-life strategies – using a nostalgic glimpse at the tech of the past 50 years to illustrate the gravity of this issue.
  • Jon Knight, Managing Director of Ascentae, on using data and analytics around in-room technology to drive better space and budgetary efficiency, improved user experience and enhanced sustainability across estates.

Attendees from higher education, corporate and public-sector organisations highlighted how the showcase helped them think differently about standardisation, analytics and support models.

“I would absolutely recommend this type of event to peers,” commented Matt Hall, Senior Technology Consultant at Hewshott. “The ability to interface with so many different organisations and companies, while also having the Aura team in the background supporting everything, being able to signpost to solutions that would benefit, it’s so valuable.”

“These events are exceptionally good for networking, to look and feel and actually touch some of the technology and also listen to some great speakers with insight of the industry,” agreed Alexander Brooker, Head of Store Environment at Specsavers. “I think I picked up a lot of new facts today, both new products that I’m going to take back and try and show to my team and see what they think, as well as some of the talks talking about some areas that I’m going to look into to develop our strategy going forward,” added Jake Bevan, AV Support Service Officer at The University of Oxford.

“Many organisations are sitting on a patchwork of room technologies that no longer match how their people work,” said Adam Wilson, Chief Commercial Officer at Aura Futures. “Because we’re completely brand-agnostic, our job is to cut through the noise – curating and supporting the right mix of platforms, displays, audio and print for each estate. Our Tech Showcase brings that thinking to life: it puts leading workspace and AV brands under one roof so customers can compare approaches, ask the difficult questions and focus on outcomes, not logos. Today’s event has been amazing – insightful, educational and fun – and we really can’t wait to make it bigger and better next year.”
